I am a proud single father of three kids. For me, a job with flexible hours is critical to give my kids the opportunity to succeed. I have been driving for Uber for six years. However, policies that put limits on surge pricing have a direct effect on my ability to provide for my family. I have seen recent coverage about how ride-sharing prices have increased. While the city and the country continue a smart discussion about ways to get more jobs and better jobs to people of color, we shouldn’t be looking at policies that hurt those of us who have found a way.
